"This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life.

Listen, God Is Speaking: I have often heard people say, “I wish God would speak to me.” Or, “why don't I hear God like other people do?” My normal answer is, “you really don't want to hear God that way.” In Scriptures we find that when a Devine message is that clear, unbelief and doubt follow. This is evident by the many, "NO, That can't be God!" responses in scripture. Take for example Moses' Burning Bush. The message could not have been clearer, but Moses was very doubtful about accomplishing what God was asking him to do. Or take Gideon's fleece (Judges 6&7). Again the message was clear, but Gideon needed reassurances and God continued to speak. I believe there are times when God is speaking louder (or maybe better to say, there are times when we are more receptive to God’s guidance in our lives). Christmas and Easter are a couple of these times. One fact about Christmas and Easter is during these times more people are thinking about church, (the House of God) than normal. The reason some say is because of tradition. But I give God the glory for this phenomena; God is speaking - Louder. I have found there are also other times when we are more open to the voice of God, beaconing us, "come unto me”... saying, “I love you and care about you". Some of these times are the birth of a child, weddings, death, and dangerous or challenging situations. During these events people's conscience, even non church goers, typically turn toward God. (Even if the cry is simply "O my God!"). For regular church goers, we hear God’s voice daily/weekly and for many the response is worship; for others it is much more service in the name of Christ Jesus our Lord. For the non Church goers, at these time (Easter, Christmas, death etc.) they find themselves looking for an answer – they just feel a need to go to the Church, The House of God. Why? God is Speaking. You see -- He is the answer. God continually speaks to us. Sometimes He speaks louder than others. C.S. Lewis said, "God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks to us in our conscience, but shouts in our pains." Don't wait for the voice to get loud – don’t wait for the pain. Come to the Lord now. Get to know Him well and God will be with you each and every day. It's easier to get to know God when God's voice is quiet. Listen, God is Speaking. – Read your Bible www.biblegateway.com start listening now. It will be helpful in times of Pain. God Bless ~ Pastor Jerry
